It has a sculpted, athletic and muscular presence while also carrying that irresistible Acura elegance. If you think the hood looks longer, then you’re right, it is. Extending the dash-to-axle ratio by a whole 4 inches gives that new-look hood line and quite a prestige feel with the cabin set back somewhat more than before.

ACURAPerformance Promise:
News from Acura promises improvements in comfort, steering, and braking. The new platform and chassis have been made with greater rigidity, which actively reduces noise in the cabin. According to Acura, a 7-percent increase in lateral torsion in the MDX should offer better handling, and a new belt-drive Electric Power Steering system gives a much faster response and precision. Braking has been enhanced by larger, 2mm-thicker front brake rotors. There’s even an electric brake booster, which improves the collision mitigation system with a 230-millisecond faster reaction time.

In all, the 2022 Acura MDX is a welcome addition as the new leader of the Acura pack. The MDX is now entering its fourth generation, and the 2022 model sees the most significant and ambitious redesign in memory for this critical model. With the promise of the Type S arriving in the summer, too, the question will be how many Acura fans show enough restraint to wait for that, as opposed to snapping up a standard model with additional packages when it arrives in the US on February 2. Only time will tell!
